THIS PAGE AND BRING IT TO PIOLA PIZZERIA (48 east 12 street @ Broadway). Opening reception: Wednedsay October 1st, 2008 - 6 pm “Toto’ loved children” says Dante Carniato, one of the founding Partners of Pizzeria Piola. “October is Italian American Heritage Month, and we thought it would be nice to pay homage to one of the most beloved Italian artist of all times by engaging Piola. “Toto’ was born in Naples’
“sanita” district in 1898. After a difficult childhood, thanks
to his talents and perseverance, Toto’ became the actor that we
all know. Notwithstanding his fame and celebrity status, he never forgot
where he came from, and throughout his life, Toto’ has always given
to the poor and those who suffer, with special emphasis on children. For
this reason, during this important anniversary, we felt that there was
no better way to pay homage to Antonio De Curtis (Toto’s real name)
that to organize a charitable event in his name.” Says Laura Caparrotti,
the De Curtis Family representative in The United States. “We are
very grateful to Piola for hosting and contributing to this event. Together
with Piola we have selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Metro New
York, because by granting the wishes of children with life-threatening
medical conditions, they enrich the human experience with hope, strength
and joy, the same Joy that Toto’ has given us during his whole career.
